You may register for the initial exam via an exam delivery provider (EDP) Web site, and if you fail, you can call the Pearson VUE or Thomson Prometric call centers to schedule your retake exam. New CompTIA Network+ Certification Exam Now Available
Greater emphasis on security, wireless networking in 2009 edition exam

Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., January 12, 2009 The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) announced today the availability of a new CompTIA Network+ exam that reflects the evolution of today's data and communications networks.
"Network security considerations are top of mind for organizations of all shapes and sizes. Wireless computing options continue to proliferate, and today's networks are expected to handle a myriad of advanced applications," said Terry Erdle, senior vice president, skills development, CompTIA.
"The updated CompTIA Network+ exam places greater emphasis on security, wireless networking skills and other critical issues that networking professionals encounter on a daily basis, Erdle added.
CompTIA Network+ 2009 focuses on the management and operation of network infrastructure. The exam tests for the ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and install a network. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to describe networking technologies; understand basic design principles; adhere to wiring standards; and use the proper testing tools.

The new PMP exam starts June 30th, 2009

Every 4 years the PMI releases a new version of The PMBOK Guide and on December 31st 2008 the 4th Edition was released. Because all of the PMI credential exams are based on this guide (some more, some less) this means that all PMI Exams will change in 2009.

If you are planning to take a PMI certification exam this year, then you must know which edition of the PMBOK Guide to use in your studies. Here is an overview of the dates when the exams change:
